DEAD SYMPHONY no. 6 GOES WORLDWIDE
Dead Symphony no. 6” an orchestral tribute to the music of the Grateful Dead is signed with Jammates Records and is now available worldwide for legal download. Negotiations are underway for the physical release; currently slated for spring of 2007.

CCN’C RECORDS RELEASE OF “EVERY MATTER UNDER HEAVEN”
The double disc release of “Every Matter Under Heaven ” hits the shelves after many years of production. Distribution is in all territories except for the U.S. The U.S. release will happen soon.

STATE DEPARTMENT FUNDING
The U.S. State Department awarded funds to Lee Johnson for his concert at the Moscow Conservatory of “Infinitude” seventh symphony.

CENTRE FOR CONTEMPORARY MUSIC MOSCOW
The Centre for Contemporary Music Moscow of the Moscow Conservatory performs and records “Infinitude” seventh symphony in historic Rachmaninoff Hall in Moscow. CCMM also recorded the work at Mosfilm in surround using their newly renovated and state of the art Studio One.

LECTURES AND MASTER CLASSES AT THE MOSCOW CONSERVATORY
Lee Johnson screened “Every Matter Under Heaven ” and gave lectures at the Moscow Conservatory concerning issues and techniques related to modern composition.

WORLD PREMIERE OF “FOUR CONCERTS”
Commissioned by violinist and friend Leonid Yanovskiy, “Four Concerts”, for piano trio and soprano receives its world premiere performance at the University of West Florida with the composer at the piano. The four movement composition features poetry by Osip Mandelstam translated by Leonid Yanovskiy.

THE RECORDING ACADEMY GRANT
The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences awarded Lee Johnson $5,000 to record “Infinitude” seventh symphony with the Centre for Contemporary Music Moscow of the Moscow Conservatory.

CARTER CENTER PERFORMANCE OF “INFINITUDE”
Lee Johnson was invited to do a special performance of “Infinitude” for the Human Rights Defenders Policy Forum at the Carter Center. In attendance were Pres. And Mrs. Carter and other dignitaries from the international Human Rights community.

May 2006 ...
Lee Johnson has been asked to return again to Mankato to direct the Mankato Symphony Orchestra in their “Rockin’ the Quarry” concert. Some works by Lee Johnson will be featured on the program to include excerpts from Dead Symphony no. 6 inspired by music created by the Grateful Dead during their forty years of music making and cultural re-evolution.

March 2006 ...
Johnson to sign the new high resolution 5.1 surround recording and DVD Symphonic Film Series V masterwork “Every Matter Under Heaven” with CC’nC Records for release in fall of 2006. The release will feature a fantastic film version of “Every Matter Under Heaven” produced with long time friend and creative partner, Clay Powers. The DVD will feature a full length documentary intended for use by educators to assist in the promotion of New Music In the Schools; an outreach organization created by Lee Johnson Music.

February 2006 ...
Johnson conducts the Goliard Ensemble in the premiere performances and digital recordings of LaGrange College Department of Music’s Creative Music Technologies composition contest winners. The winning works were by student composers: Zack Patten, Jonathan Godfrey, Aaron Jones, and Chris Owenby.

The premiere of Suite no. 1 from “Trail of Tears” c. 1828 was conducted by Lee Johnson with the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra at Callaway Auditorium featuring Marlaina Johnson as soloist. The work was received with a standing ovation from the very enthusiastic concert audience.


December 2005 ...
Lee Johnson’s Seaside Symphony no. 4 and Ora Pro Mi recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra are combined to form the music of “Waterdance”  - a ballet of life in the sea; directed by Donald Tipton and produced by Cheryl Elliot. Waterdance has been signed by Deutsche Austrophon for release in spring of 2006.

November 2005 ...
Lee Johnson has been commissioned to compose a new work using the Universal Declaration Of Human Rights, 1948 written under the supervision of Eleanor Roosevelt for the General Assembly Of The United Nations. Johnson will compose “Infinitude Seventh Symphony” to be premiered on April 20th for the 175th Anniversary of LaGrange College and to commemorate the innauguration of its new concert hall. Performances are also being scheduled for the University of Georgia, Emory University and others.

July 2005 ...
American symphonist Lee Johnson conducts his new Dead Symphony no. 6 in recording sessions with the Russian National Orchestra at Mosfilm Studios, Moscow. The RNO plans to perform Dead Symphony no. 6 on its Volga River Tour in April of 2006. The recording sessions were also videotaped for planned use in a DVD documentary back story of the new work. Dead Symphony no. 6 was produced by Mike Adams owner of Exocet Studios, Atlanta.

ArtReach Foundation to premiere "Childlike Civility" May 2004.

M-Cuts, an online music library to be commercially available in the North American and European markets. In addition to Lee Johnson Music, partners in the venture include Paul Hammock, Hammock Audio Services, and Coe Cloud and Pat Patten, Jammates LLC. The first series, ready for commercial CD release and online audition/download, will feature a mix of dramatic and specialty music from Johnson's last 10 years of writing and recording - all remixed and remastered. Intended audiences include Indie Films, Network and Cable Television, as well as Independent Audio & Video Production Companies.

Lee Johnson, CCn'C recording artist, signs with Warner Bros., Warner Vision, Germany. Sandfloor Cathedral, symphony no. 5 will be released in Feb. 2004 as 5.1 DVD Video and a high resolution DVD Audio discs. These two products will have global distribution minus the Canadian and U.S. markets - the North American release date is not known at this time.

Johnson is Convocation speaker for Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music marking the beginning exercises of the 2003-2004 academic year.

July 2003 ...
Lee Johnson's one act comic opera Wordsmith, featuring tenor Jim Blanton, the Goliard Ensemble of New York, and Lee as lead baritone, airs twice on Georgia Public Radio. Interviews with the Composer and the Goliard Ensemble were also part of the broadcast.

Lee will premiere "U Giophel Knoys", a new cantata for mixed voices, soloists, narrator, and pre-recorded media at the First Baptist Church of Shawmut, AL.

May 2003 ...
The "Sandfloor Cathedral" DVD, featuring a stellar 5.1 surround mix and including stunning new Sea of Cortez footage by Donald Tipton, is complete and is currently in negotiations for manufacture and distribution.

Lee visits East Oregon University as composer in residence and while there provides a special "Sandfloor Cathedral" screening.

LaGrange College commissions Johnson to compose original oratorio. To be recorded in Prague during 2004, the oratorio is entitled "Childlike Civility" and was inspired by his 2002 visit to Bosnia and his work with the LaGrange College Community Servant Leadership efforts. The oratorio will premiere during the 175th Anniversary Year of Celebration at LaGrange College.

April 2003 ...
Lee screens "Sandfloor Cathedral" at the Craigavon Civic Center. During his week stay he also taught composition students at colleges throughout Northern Ireland.

March 2003 ...
"Sandfloor Cathedral" airs with featured radio broadcasts on Hessicher Rundfunk and Deutchland Radio Berlin. Deutchland Radio Berlin, the largest classical radio station in Germany also conducted and broadcast an hour long interview with Lee.

January 2003 ...
Lee Johnson begins scoring A Circle on the Cross, the feature film from Legacy Matters Productions.

A Vietnam POW escapes after 20 years of solitary confinement and returns to his home in rural Arkansas only to find that his wife and family have become emotionally imprisoned during his absence. The story is about survival, about the human capacity to survive somehow, no matter what.

Lee Johnson signs as a contemporary classical composer and DVD producer with CCn'C Records, Germany. His first CCn'C release, "Sandfloor Cathedral", also includes his second symphony "The Colours of a Soul", and is scheduled for December 2002. The DVD release of these symphonic works is slated for September 2003.
